9mobile formerly Etisalat, seem to be in a fresh crisis as Teleology have withdrawn from further participation in the 9mobile project.
Teleology recently acquired 9mobile in November 2018 after making an initial $50 million non-refundable deposit and finalising the takeover 10 months later. They outbid other telcos like Airtel and Glo.
It is surprising that Teleology Holdings has expressed its dissatisfaction with the business relationship with its local partner, 9mobile Nigeria, and has decided to pull out from the 9mobile project. THISDAY reports that Teleology Holdings had become increasingly uncomfortable with actions taken outside of the agreed business plan, since the November 12, 2018 formal take-over of 9mobile.
9mobile network, has been at the receiving end of considerable customer attrition since financial troubles became public in 2017. From more than 22 million customers on its network in October 2016, the 9mobile network had just a little over 15 million active subscribers as at November 2018.
